چکیده

We examined the characteristics of a metal–insulator transition on a two-dimensional nonbipartite lattice when both disorders and electron interactions are present. Using a real-space renormalization group method and finite-size scaling analysis we have found that after the disordered system transits from the insulating state to the metal one, it can reenter an insulating state if there is a further increase in the electron–electron interactions.  2003 Elsevier B.V. Investigation of effect of magnetic ordering on structural and electronic properties of double perovskites Sr2BWO6 (B = Co, Ni, Cu) using ab initio method

Structural and electronic properties of double perovskites Sr2BWO6 (B = Co, Ni, Cu)  were studied  for each of three magnetic configurations nonmagnetic, ferromagnetic, and antiferromagnetic by using density functional theory in generalized gradient approximations (GGA) and strong correlation correction (GGA + U). Due to magnetic transition from antiferromagnetic to nonmagnetic phase, an electr...

Two Electron View on Metal-insulator Transition in Two Dimensions

The model of two electrons with Coulomb interaction on a two-dimensional (2D) disordered lattice is considered. It is shown that the interaction can give a sharp transition to delocalized states in a way similar to the Anderson transition in 3D. The localized phase appears when the ratio of the Coulomb energy to the Fermi energy becomes larger than some critical value dependent on the disorder....

Finite-size scaling for Mott metal-insulator transition on a half filled nonpartite lattice

Ever since the experimental observations of the metallic behavior in two-dimensional electron gas with high-mobility Si metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor, there has been an intensive interest in the investigations of electronic transport properties in such systems. The significance of this discovery is that it has taken us to a different interaction regime where the electron cor...

First - and Second Order Phase Transitions in the Holstein - Hubbard Model

– We investigate metal-insulator transitions in the half-filled Holstein-Hubbard model as a function of the on-site electron-electron interaction U and the electron-phonon coupling g. We use several different numerical methods to calculate the phase diagram, the results of which are in excellent agreement. When the electron-electron interaction U is dominant the transition is to a Mott-insulato...

Quantum ergodicity for electrons in two dimensions

We study the effect of electron-electron interaction on a two dimensional (2D) disordered lattice. For the case of two electrons the analytical estimates are presented showing a transition from localized to delocalized states in a way similar to the Anderson transition in 3D. The localized phase corresponds to large values of parameter rs, which is determined by the ratio of the Coulomb and Fer...
